10 Reasons To Go Abroad This Winter

Are you contemplating a holiday this winter? If not, here are 10 reasons why it could be a great idea.

1. Winter in this country can get mightily cold, which most of us don’t particularly enjoy. Going aboard could mean spending part or all of the winter in a warmer country.

2. If the cold wintery weather doesn’t both you, then you may still want to go abroad for a more festive setting, particularly in the run up to Christmas. Some countries are far more likely to get snow that here, which means going abroad could get you into the seasonal spirit.

3. If the year feels like it’s gone on forever, perhaps due to a busy work project, you may be ready to take a break somewhere far away from your worries in the workplace.

4. Many employees have annual leave that runs year end to year end, which means you may be approaching the end of that term with plenty of days left to take. Flying off to somewhere hot or even wintery could be the perfect way to use them.

5. Throughout the UK there are a number of regional airports offering flights all over Europe and often beyond. That means it’s easier than ever to get to other countries and see what they have to offer.

6. As well as offering plenty of flights all around the UK, these airports are also providing them for some excellent rates, which means it’s relatively inexpensive to go abroad.

7. Budget holidays doesn’t end with your flights, either. There are great deals available for accommodation. Therefore, your winter holiday needn’t be expensive.

8. Christmas can be a lonely time, especially if you’ve lost loved ones. If you don’t want another traditional Christmas, why not escape for a week or two somewhere different and spend the time doing something far from festive.

9. The run up to Christmas can often get stressful, which is too much for some people. If you find the hustle and bustle of the festive season too much, a holiday can be the perfect excuse to disappear for the duration!

10. A holiday at any time of year is never a bad thing, especially when we work so hard. Going on holiday outside of the traditional holiday season could mean you get a better deal and a nicer experience at a quiet resort.

So, the first thing to do is think about where you can get to from your local airport. If you’re in the North East, you may want to book flights from Durham to Holland or flights from Durham to Wroclaw for something a little different.

Call me a joker, call me a fool
Right at this moment I’m totally cool
Clear as a crystal, sharp as a knife
I feel like I’m in the prime of my life
Sometimes it feels like I’m going too fast
I don’t know how long this feeling will last
Maybe it’s only tonight

Darling I don’t know why I go to extremes
Too high or too low there ain’t no in-betweens
And if I stand or I fall
It’s all or nothing at all
Darling I don’t know why I go to extremes
