Beer and Kidney Stones – Is it Safe?

Many men and woman have had the misfortune of dealing with the agonizing pain of passing a kidney stone. If you have not had to deal with the excruciating pain, you are one of the lucky ones!

To make matters much worse for those that have had kidney stones, there is an 80% chance that they will have another issue with in their lifetime. Unless, beer and kidney stones are in the same individual.

I know, this must sound very odd, considering we have been told for a number of years that alcohol can have a negative affect on our body’s. However, research has begun to show that it is possible for a person that consumes beer to have a decreased risk of stone formation. Beer and kidney stones, the connection is a simple one.

Apparently, when a person consumes beer in moderation, he or she is able to dissolve the particles that form a kidney stone before it has the ability to completely form and begin its painful descent out of the body.

If you really think about it, you know when you begin consuming alcohol, especially beer you tend to urinate more frequently. This increase in urine production and need to urinate allows the formations of the stones to be passed easily, without notice.

The more you drink (any beverage) the more you will need to urinate. The more you find you are going to the bathroom the more your body is being flushed of its toxins. However, do not be mislead into thinking that you can drink as many beers as you want and have no ill effects in the long run.

Drinking beer should be done in moderation. However, you will still need to eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. With a lack in overall healthy habits you can end up increasing your risks and chances of having to deal with painful kidney stones.

You might also want to try drinking cranberry juice instead of beer to help you flush your body of the kidney stones that might be forming and to reduce your risks of having future formation. Beer and kidney stones, could this be a love connection?
