According to the ads on television, the only place that a pimple can be found is on a face of a teenager, or at least, an actor playing a teenager. Most of us know that this far from the truth. Pimples do not only infect teenagers and celebrities, they also show up on regular people and not only on the face. In fact, give it a chance, acne can show up just about anywhere on your body: your chest, your arms, your back, even your rear is not safe from the scarring scourge of body acne.
Body acne can cause just as much trouble for a person as facial acne, except that it can covered up with clothing which is why it is problem that people tend to be less open about. Also, since skin elsewhere is thicker than facial skin, getting rid of body acne is much more difficult, making it a problem that many people think they just have to suffer with. If you happen to have body acne, you do not have to let it ruin your life. There are things that you can do for your skin that will help you keep it under control and enable you to finally shed some clothing.
Here are some things that you can do to help keep your body acne under control:
Change your wardrobe
Clothes that are too tight can cause irritation and aggravate your acne problem. Clothes spun from synthetics also do not breathe and keep your sweat trapped against the skin. Go with loose fitting clothes made from natural fibers such as cotton, which help wick away the perspiration. This is especially important to do when exercising. That backpack that you carry your books or lunch around also might be the thing that is aggravating your back acne and making it worse.
Take a shower
Bathe regularly, especially after exercising. Sweat is big factor in acne. When you go to the gym or exercise at home, you push bodily toxins out of your body through your sweat glands. These toxins need to be washed away from your skin as soon as possible. Another hint: they also make special body soap for people with a problem with body acne.
Ironically, while moisture plays a key role in the development of pimples, you can also get body acne if your skin happens to be overly dry. Using moisturizer that penetrate and lubricates without blocking up your pores is a good way to tackle this problem.
Apple Cider Vinegar
One great way to help get rid of those nasty pimples and pimple scars on your back, arms, chest, your buttocks is to use Apple Cider Vinegar on them. ACV can help kill off the bacteria, balance your skin’s pH level, absorb excessive oils on your skin and help combat dry, scaly and itchy skin costing around four dollars a bottle; it is also a much more affordable treatment than the ones found in the drug store.
How to use Apple Cider Vinegar
In a cup, stir one tablespoon of water to two tablespoons of ACV, then use cotton balls to apply it to the places that are prone to acne and scarring. You can leave it on overnight (the vinegar smell goes away in fifteen minutes) or you can wait 30 minutes and then shower it off. Do this every day for a week and watch as your body acne disappears. Keep your pimples from coming back by keeping up the treatment every other day.
