Mark Dantonio OK after heart attack

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio had a heart attack late Saturday night after his team’s overtime victory against Notre Dame, the school said Sunday in a MLB jerseys news release.

Dantonio, who was “resting comfortably” Sunday and expected to make a full recovery, was admitted to the emergency room at Sparrow Hospital and had a stent put in a blocked artery near his heart not long after the Spartans used an audacious fake field goal to win 34-31.

Dantonio will be out indefinitely and offensive coordinator Don Treadwill will coach nfl jersey in his absence.

Dr. Chris D’Haem, an interventional cardiologist with Thoracic and Cardiovascular Institute and Sparrow, performed the  MLB jerseys cardiac catheterization procedure on Dantonio using a small, metallic stent to open a blocked blood vessel leading to the heart during the “common procedure,” the school said.

“He is young, in excellent shape, and the damage to his heart was minimal,” D’Haem said in the statement. “Coach Dantonio made the right decision to come in and get checked out immediately.”

Dantonio will remain hospitalized for several days.

“This is a time for Spartan nfl jersey Nation to rally around Coach D and the football program,” Michigan State athletics director Mark Hollis said in the news release. “We all look forward to his return to the sidelines. The thoughts of the entire Spartan family are with Coach D, his wife Becky and his daughters Kristen and Lauren.”

Treadwell vowed to persevere at the helm in Dantonio’s absence.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Coach D and his family,” Treadwell said in the statement. “We wish him a full MLB jerseys and speedy recovery, so he can rejoin us on the sidelines. In the interim, the vast majority of this coaching staff has been together for seven years, so we won’t miss a beat as we move forward and build upon the momentum of last night’s thrilling victory.”
