Start Living Life and Not Micro Managing

When it comes to working and trying to separate yourself from the workplace as much as possible it is important that you don’t micro manage all of your menial tasks. Tim Ferris goes over this very well in his book, but in case you haven’t read it here are the things you should know.

For one, in order for you to cut down on your hours of work it is important that you don’t keep doing the same thing you’ve been doing as a routine. It’s time to sit down and take a look at all of the tasks that you do everyday. From that list you will need to think about which things you can take out of the fold. What are the things that you do everyday that you could easily delegate to someone else? After you’ve done that it is time to outsource your work.

Most people suddenly have a fear that they are the only ones that can do their tasks, but it simply isn’t true. You will be surprised how well a virtual assistant can be really be once you start outsourcing your work. Fortune 500 companies would not outsource important financial projects if outsourcing didn’t work. This may mean just having to delegate small tasks at first just to get a feel for how well trained your assistant really is.

Once you do outsource your work just have your assistant make you a detailed chart of what they have done. This way you won’t have to worry over all the small details and you’ll be able to focus on the projects that really need your assistance. If you are looking to enjoy life more and work less, then you may want to consider outsourcing some of your work. This allows you to not micro manage things, and you’ll have less stress in your life.
