The Benefits of Drinking Water From the Tap Are Tempered by The Dangers to Our Health

Enough can’t be said about the benefits of drinking water.  The importance of water should be something that is obvious to everyone, since it is this liquid that makes up roughly 70% of our bodies.  This fluid is necessary in order for us to sustain life, but our supply of clean water sources are but a distant memory, as we have thoroughly contaminated our rivers and streams.

The benefits of drinking water from an unfiltered tap are still there, as we do need this liquid in order to keep our bodies going.  These benefits are tempered however, by the danger that is imposed by the wealth of contaminants that are a constant threat to our health.  There are thousands of these impurities, any number of which you could be ingesting any time that you take a sip.

The number of carcinogens alone that have been found present in our reservoir system underlines the importance of water that is clean.  There are over two thousand carcinogenic agents that have been positively identified, and you have got to get them out of your water at all costs.  I will tell you how to do that, but first let me warn you of one thing.

Despite what most people have been led to believe, there are no benefits of drinking water that has been prepackaged by one of the many bottling companies.  This water is more often than not just regular tap water, put inside a bottle with the words clean and pure on it.  Bottlers are not providing you with the healthy water that they claim they are.

Such is the importance of drinking water that is pure, that I am going to advise you to make an investment in a water purification system for your home.  These appliances are reasonably priced, and easy for you to install.  The higher quality units will remove up to 99% of each of the impurities that comes into contact with its filters.  Here is what you need.

The benefits of drinking water can best be enjoyed when using a water purification system that features a four filter combination to ensure purity.  The filters you require are an activated granular carbon filter, a multi media block, a sub micron filter, and an ion exchange.  These filters will cover all of the categories of contaminants that you must face.

The companies that make these purification filters also understand the importance of water even when you are not at home.  This is why some of them will provide their customers with handy stainless steel, or glass water containers in order for you to be able to enjoy pure water wherever you are.  You should take advantage of this if the company you buy from offers them.

The benefits of drinking water cannot be denied, and you have to ensure that the liquid that you take in is as healthy for you as possible. Follow the advise that I have offered here, and you can enjoy the pure, fresh water that your body deserves.

The Story of Bottled Water (2010)

The Story of Bottled Water, released on March 22, 2010 (World Water Day) employs the Story of Stuff style to tell the story of manufactured demand—how you get Americans to buy more than half a billion bottles of water every week when it already flows from the tap. Over five minutes, the film explores the bottled water industrys attacks on tap water and its use of seductive, environmental-themed advertising to cover up the mountains of plastic waste it produces. The film concludes with a call to take back the tap, not only by making a personal commitment to avoid bottled water, but by supporting investments in clean, available tap water for all.

Our production partners on the bottled water film include five leading sustainability groups: Corporate Accountability International, Environmental Working Group, Food & Water Watch, Pacific Institute, and Polaris Institute.
