This has to be one of the most uncomfortable areas for sweating. Your face is easy to wipe dry, but your head is another matter.
You end up with hair going all stringy and clinging to your scalp and possibly your neck, dependent on your hair style. I personally cannot wear a hat because my head gets so hot that I think sometimes it will explode and I feel desperate to stop sweating in my head.
If your face constantly flushes up it could be that this type of sweating is because, if you are a woman you may be in the menopause, it could be a hormonal imbalance. I know most ladies of a certain age cam empathize with this situation – perhaps you enter a restaurant and whoosh, you are red from your chest to the top of your head and there is just nothing you can do about it except wait for it to subside.
Taking the question of being in a restaurant, it could be the type of food you are eating. If you are eating spicy food, Indian, Chinese, Mexican etc. this can definitely cause you to sweat. If you suffer these symptoms constantly, every time you eat the same spicy food then you may have to think of abstaining from eating this type of food even though you enjoy it.
If anxiety is the reason for this flushing then you need to think about taking some precautions to calm yourself down prior to entering any kind of social situation. A few deep Yoga type breaths could help – take in a good breath and hold it for as long as you can then slowly breathe out. Do this a few times and you will feel your pulse slowing down and you should start to feel less stressed out.
If you normally break out in a sweat when you are in a hot environment then you need to have a fan with you, a lady can use a normal fan, or anyone can use one of those small battery operated ones which will give you relief until your system adapts to the different temperature.
You may find you are sweating in your face and head seemingly for no apparent reason, but you may be reacting to wearing clothing made from man-made fibers and the sweating is spreading throughout your system. Some people do have bad reactions to anything but natural fibers, so test this scenario to see if you can determine whether this is the cause or not.
Perhaps a light dusting of talcum powder on your face could help to blot up any excess sweat. I would definitely recommend that ladies do not use any face creams with an oily content, this will just make the situation seem much worse.
There is a medical condition known as Hyperhidrosis which refers to excessive sweating. This can affect the face, armpits, hands, groin area and feet. If you have tried different methods to stop sweating in your head area to no avail, perhaps you should ask the advice of your doctor.
If you are experiencing this type of excessive sweating in other areas of your body as well, then it is well worth asking for your doctors opinion because you may need a more aggressive method of treatment to help you overcome this debilitating and embarrassing problem.
Unfortunately, even though Hyperhidrosis is a known medical condition, so many people suffer from it and never ask for help because they feel too embarrassed to discuss the situation.
There is absolutely no need for you to feel as though you are the only one on the planet suffering this way – you are not. You and millions of other people worldwide have this same problem and they are all looking for a solution to stop a sweating head and/or many other areas of their body.
If you really do believe that your sweating is above what should be normally expected in order to cool down your body then don’t delay, ask for help in your search for the method which will work for you to get you out of this cycle of copious sweating.
