You’ve probably spent your whole life hearing about how good washing your face is for you. If you are like most of your friends, you don’t really care about washing your face every day–in fact, doing so feels like a chore! Most of us spent our teenage years stressing out over breakouts and acne and, even so, as adults we still grumble about washing our faces, especially in the evening. The problem is that, in order to keep your pores free of dirt, bacteria and other debris, you need to wash your face regularly. Do you want to have a breakout as an adult? Here are a few hints to help you keep your skin healthy.
Are you eating the right foods and getting the nutrients that you need? It might sound odd, but some peoples’ bodies react to an imbalance in diet by breaking out. Acne can be a warning sign that you are not getting enough of some of the nutrients you really need. The easiest way to deal with this is to take a multi-vitamin every day. The multi-vitamin won’t take care of all of your nutritional needs but it can help you make up for some of the areas in which you are lacking. When you aren’t properly nutritioned, your body will start to produce extra sebum which then clogs your pores and causes zits and pimples to appear (and makes it easier to get sick). This type of acne is easily beaten by eating a healthy diet and taking your vitamins every day. Ask a dermatologist for help. There are some adults out there whose acne is so bad they need to seek professional help to get it under control. For people who have tried all of the over the counter facial cleansers and acne fighters and who still suffer from extensive acne, a professional’s advice is often needed. A professional will be able to prescribe extra strength acne fighters to help you. You might be one of those people whose acne is caused by other medical conditions and a dermatologist will be able to properly diagnose this. Believe it or not sometimes genetics and other health conditions can be the cause of acne. A doctor can help you diagnose your skin problems and help you to clear up the acne you are fighting.
If you do wake up to an acne flare up, do not let yourself pick at your face! Do not squeeze pimples or pick at zits. Leaving your acne alone is always the best idea. Though should never ever play with, pick at or pop your pimples, it is okay to gently wash your breakout with some acne fighting cleansers. It is true that acne can take a few days to heal properly. What would your rather have happen? A week or so with a breakout or a lifetime with scars from it?
Getting rid of your acne does not have to be complicated or cost a lot of money. The best way to stay acne free is to simply keep your face clean. Go easy on your face so that you don’t damage the sensitive skin there! You can give your face a great cleansing without damaging your skin!
